Address: Sarawak Handicraft Centre, Round Tower, Lot 32, Sect 25 KTLD, Jalan Tun Abang Haji Openg, 93100 Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia.
Phone: Sarawak Craft Council
Time: Weekdays 8.30AM-4.30PM
The council was founded to promote local handicraft, helping to popularise the state’s ethnic crafts. Through the council’s promotion of native art, indigenous people living in rural areas have an alternative source of income other than farming.
The market created by the council also helps them maintain their artistic skills which otherwise might be lost in the fast pace of modern life. It serves to coordinate the various government agencies involved in handicraft development in Sarawak.
