At first glance it looks like as if these aren’t real, but a creation on canvas. Millions of tulips in various colors like pink, orange, purple, yellow, red, & green create this amazing effect. Both the flower & its name originated in the Ottoman Empire, although
tulips are associated with Holland. A tulip isn’t actually a Dutch flower as many tend to believe. And as a matter of fact, tulips were brought to Europe in the 16th century. The tulip, or “Lale” as it is called in Turkey, is a flower indigenous to certain parts of Central Asia. Though these amazing fields are like a rainbow, this colorful landscape is a short-lived phenomenon as once the flowers are gone, there comes the regular crops of vegetables.

The tulip fields of the northern Netherlands, an extraordinary 60 million tulips can be seen coming into flower. In Dutch more than 10,000 hectares are dedicated to the cultivation of these flowers, & more than three billion tulips are grown each year & two-thirds of these are exported, mostly to the U.S. & Germany.
These extraordinary pictures were taken in Gretna Green, Scotland, shows more than a million birds wheeling and turning as one, billowing clouds of starlings are transformed into images of a penguin, cartoon characters, and a shoe.
